Teacher of English Language and English Literature
My teaching philosophy: I always say to my students that there are no correct or exact answers, it is through literary and linguistic analysis, through interpretation of imagery and stylistic devices you can discover the truth you have always tried but failed to catch. In my view, reading and literary analysis are the best tools for the development of critical thinking and independent learning, and the greatest praise for me as a teacher is to hear students discussing the books they have read in their free time.

Hi there, my name is Olga Balova. I currently teach English Literature as well as General English. I come from Omsk, Russia and now live and work in this Siberian city. I studied Literature and Linguistics at the Yakutsk University, which I graduated with distinction in 1997.
Literature has always been my dearest passion. I have started practicing teaching this subject soon after graduation and since then my interest to it has never eclipsed.
During my career I have been blessed with brilliant students who were really inspired and enriched by reading. I have also had some experience in translating.
